This is a focused, 1-week contract position designed for immediate support on a critical project. Requirements

  • Deep mechanical aptitude with pumps, valves, piping, gearboxes, and automated filtration systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment manuals
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical controls, motors, and instrumentation (480V 3-phase systems, VFDs, and sensors)
  • Competency using hand tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, dial indicators), and power tools
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably within a water/wastewater treatment plant or heavy industrial processing facility required
  • Ability to lift up to 50–100 pounds
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours plant emergencies
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; the employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g., H-1B visa) for this opportunity

Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school certification in industrial mechanics, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test filtration and separation machinery to locate the root cause of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or basic electrical issues.
  • Monitor system performance using SCADA interfaces, gauges, meters, and control panels to spot early signs of equipment failure.
  • Analyze historical data and operational trends to predict and prevent unexpected filtration unit shutdowns.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, blowers, valves, actuators, chemical feed systems, and complex filtration arrays.
  • Rebuild, align, and replace worn or defective mechanical parts, seals, bearings, impellers, and filter modules.
  • Clean, descale, and flush filtration units, tanks, and piping networks according to strict technical schedules.
  • Adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry protocols, and OSHA safety standards when working near high-voltage lines and biological hazards.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs of completed work orders, parts usage, and equipment repair history.
  • Ensure all repaired or adjusted filtration equipment meets Clean Water Act and NPDES discharge parameter limits.
