About The Position

This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance activities, troubleshooting mechanical problems, and ensuring the overall operational needs of the plant are met. The position requires adherence to safe working procedures and involves collaboration with vendors, contractors, engineers, and fellow employees. The job operates in a 24/7 environment and may require working in areas with extreme heat and cold.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience with fabrication: welding, machining, metal working, etc.
  • Ability to read blueprints, P&ID drawings, electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with mechanical aspects of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Must be able to work in areas of extreme heat and cold.
  • Must have experience or competencies in the operation of mobile equipment such as front-end loaders and/or forklifts.
  • Familiarity with Metric to Decimal conversion.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalency.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and quickly troubleshoot mechanical problems in a fast-paced plant environment.
  • Understand, record, and react to mechanical issues within the plant.
  • Monitor and document required checklists related to maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricate repair parts using shop instrumentation, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needed items, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
