This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role is crucial for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment, and troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility. The job involves work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and general mechanics, as well as some welding. The mechanic will set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery and complete daily documentation. All team members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety, and must comply with all company and USDA policies/guidelines. The role requires attending monthly and annual training sessions on topics such as Safety, HACCP, HR, LOTO, and PIT. Basic computer skills are necessary for navigating systems, data entry, and completing training. The ability to read manuals for safe equipment repair and follow all safety protocols is essential. Recording information using company-provided forms and procedures, reporting to work as scheduled, and meeting job expectations are also key. Flexibility to work other jobs, weekends, and overtime as needed is required. Professional and respectful interaction with others, positive interpersonal skills, and effective communication with team members and management are expected. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness are important. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, hair net/beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves. Other duties may be assigned.
