About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment including presses, plating systems, paint line conveyors, compressors, and related mechanical systems. The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility and is not climate-controlled. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environments. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Safety precautions must always be followed to reduce exposure to hazards. Employees are required to provide their own tools. Shift is 8–12 hours. May work overtime up to 10–16 hours. Two 10-minute breaks per shift and a 20-minute meal break. Employees are paid for the entire time they are clocked in and do not clock out for breaks if taken on campus.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test and respirator exam for negative pressure respiratory protection
  • Must be clean shaven in areas where a respirator seal is required
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work within a team setting
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of health and safety compliance training programs and departmental work instructions written in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training preferred
  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain equipment throughout the facility including polish heads, plating hoists, pumps, presses, paint line conveyor systems, and compressors
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motor control systems including pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with Power & Free systems and equipment rack
  • Read and accurately interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Perform welding for repair work as needed
  • Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklords, and aerial work platforms up to 60 feet
  • Utilize and work with maintenance trades and components such as mechanical, welding, fabrication, and pipefitting
  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all safety and quality standards
  • Work in variable temperatures indoors and outdoors ranging from subzero to 150°F
  • Wear required PPE including respirator and Level B chemical suit when necessary
