About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic performs electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and maintenance on plant equipment. This is a multi-craft position requiring mechanical, maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, welding, and electrical skills. The role involves installing, repairing, erecting, dismantling, and assembling plant machinery and electrical or electronic equipment and components; inspecting glass-forming and other factory machinery; adjusting glass-forming machines; fabricating and repairing components; and determining the causes of breakdowns and needed repairs, reconditioning, or replacements.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Maintenance experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to pass the maintenance journeyman written test.
• Basic PC literacy, including Word, email, and basic data entry.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift that includes weekends and holidays.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
• Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop handbooks, and layouts.
• Experience completing routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Maintenance or Electrical journeyman card preferred.
• Previous glass industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, erect, dismantle, and assemble plant machinery and electrical or electronic equipment and components, including motors, switches, control boards, PLCs, VFDs, generators, and circuit breakers.
• Inspect glass-forming machines and other factory operating machines, parts, and components.
• Make line repair adjustments to glass-forming machines.
• Weld, braze, scrape, solder, and cut metals for maintenance repairs and fabrication of components and equipment.
• Determine the cause of breakdowns and identify required repairs, reconditioning, or replacements.
• Perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment repairs and maintenance.
