About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment, systems, and building infrastructure. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment, conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and facility maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and industrial controls
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC systems and electrical components
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to diagnose and repair AC electrical systems up to 480V
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced industrial environment
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds as needed
  • Frequent walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
  • Ability to work at heights and on ladders or elevated platforms
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and industrial conditions
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods
  • On call availability and flexibility to work additional hours as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 3 to 5 years of maintenance, facilities, or industrial equipment experience preferred
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and material handling equipment preferred
  • Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Mechanic, or related certifications preferred
  • Experience using maintenance software and Microsoft Office preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment (MHE), including conveyor and sortation systems
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical components including motors, relays, sensors, solenoids, and PLC-related systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment calibrations
  • Repair and replace belts, chains, bearings, rollers, pulleys, and other wear components
  • Maintain dock equipment including doors, seals, and levelers
  • Repair and maintain HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, and compressed air systems
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and basic metal work as needed
  • Install and maintain conveyor systems, racking, voice/data cabling, and air systems
  • Maintain forklift batteries, chargers, pallet jacks, and powered industrial vehicles
  • Support facility upkeep including drywall repair, painting, flooring, roofing, and general building repairs
  • Maintain fire suppression and alarm systems
  • Track maintenance activity and inventory using maintenance software or internal systems
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend tools or supplies as needed
  • Assist with office moves, cubicle installation, and contractor coordination
  • Support snow removal and exterior facility maintenance
  • Follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and company policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
