Industrial Machinist

Hankook Tire•Clarksville, TN

About The Position

Hankook Tire is seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate machine tools—including lathes, grinders, milling machines, plasma cutters, CNC machines, and drilling machines—to produce precision parts. The position fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools and mechanical instruments, and maintains industrial machines using knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The primary focus is repairing or machining new production machinery parts from stock materials, including shafts, rollers, gears, pins, keyways, and other precision parts. When production machinery breakdown work is not underway, the Machinist performs planned work assigned by leadership. The role requires blueprint reading and checking finished work against drawings, tolerances, and dimensions before returning parts to manufacturing. Work is often performed alone and unsupervised in the machine shop, with collaboration with other team members as needed. The stated shift is nights, 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., on a fixed 2-2-3 schedule. The role is expected to transition to a rotating weekend 2-2-3 schedule of 12 hours per day. Regular attendance is an essential function. The position is full-time and non-exempt, reports to the Maintenance Unit Manager, and may include other duties assigned by management.
