The Fabrication Maintenance Technician sets up and operates a variety of machine tools—including lathes, grinders, millers, plasma cutters, CNC and drilling machines—to produce precision parts. The role fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools and mechanical instruments, and maintains industrial machines using knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures. The primary focus is repairing or machining new production machinery parts from stock materials, such as shafts, rollers, gears, pins and keyways. The technician also completes planned work assigned by leadership when not handling production machinery breakdowns. Most work is performed alone and unsupervised in the machine shop, with collaboration with other team members when needed. The position is non-exempt and full-time, with a night schedule of 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a fixed 2-2-3 schedule. The role will transition to a rotating weekend schedule of 12 hours per day.
