About The Position

Siemens is hiring an Industrial Edge & Manufacturing Data Engineer for its Electrification & Automation Business Unit, based in Wendell, North Carolina. The role supports manufacturing connectivity and digitalization by connecting shop-floor equipment to cloud data platforms and enabling reliable, governed manufacturing data for operational visibility and decision-making. The engineer partners with manufacturing, operations, business, data engineering, cybersecurity, IT, networking, and global platform teams, and supports deployments across U.S. production facilities. The position involves configuring and supporting Siemens Industrial Edge technologies and industrial communication protocols; developing and maintaining equipment-to-cloud data pipelines using Kafka, Node-RED, MQTT, and OPC UA; and creating source, asset, and event-based data models, including within Snowflake. The engineer validates equipment data, schemas, interface contracts, and ingestion processes, while supporting the transition of source data into governed analytical and semantic models. The role also manages Industrial Edge and Industrial Edge Management lifecycle activities, including deployment, configuration, documentation, incident management, and service support, and develops reusable standards and procedures for enterprise adoption. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent practical experience, at least three years of relevant experience, working knowledge of MQTT and OPC UA, experience with Kafka, Node-RED, and Snowflake, and willingness to travel up to 20%. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without company sponsorship. Siemens describes the work mode as hybrid (remote/office) and the employment as full-time and permanent.
