About The Position

We are seeking an Industrial Insulation & Fabrication Technician to join our federal team at our York, PA location. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized 6S environment, participating in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events, and understanding the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation. The technician will also be responsible for knowledge and proficiency in print reading, operating overhead/jib cranes and rigging of products, reviewing and signing timecards weekly, and adhering to and promoting compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols. Requirements

  • 2-years of experience in mechanical insulation or building trades (Preferred)
  • Attention to detail, follow detailed instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret a measuring tape accurately to measure and cut out materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized 6S environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events.
  • Understand the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in print reading.
  • Operate overhead/jib cranes and rig products.
  • Review and sign timecards weekly.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Work from complex mechanical, piping, and isometric drawings.
  • Produce products from prints, standard work, and routers.
  • Work from engineering standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams.
  • Document Quality-Controlled Inspections (QCI).
  • Perform mathematical fabrication to accurately obtain values.
  • Perform precision work for high-quality repeatability.
  • Measure, cut & fit insulation to round, flat surfaces, including bevel, miter, and fish mouth cuts.
  • Perform acoustic insulation tasks, including layout and cutting for minimum waste, and installation using pin welder or banding, with glue and lagging, and caulking seams as required.
  • Perform thermal insulation tasks, including layout for minimum waste, attaching insulation using glue adhesive, fitting to round and flat surfaces, applying lagging cloth, applying fire retardant paint, and applying dampening tiles with two-part epoxy as required.
  • Perform tubular insulation tasks, including cutting and applying insulation, applying lagging cloth, applying fire retardant paint, and applying dampening tiles as required.
