About The Position

This position involves performing Industrial Hygiene (IH) functions under limited supervision. The role supports management and other Industrial Hygienists in developing the IH Program by evaluating and interpreting IH sampling data. Responsibilities include developing and delivering IH Technician training, determining preventative measures for chemical, biological, and physical exposures, and ensuring site operations comply with procedures, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Specific duties may involve monitoring health standards, providing technical guidance, recommending controls, reviewing sampling surveys, communicating results, and contributing to policy modifications. The role also includes identifying hazards, assisting in program development for hazard monitoring and prevention, interpreting standards, developing corrective actions, performing program assessments, and generating reports. Maintaining safe work practices and participating in Safety Work Groups are also key aspects of the role. The job description outlines two levels: Junior and Senior, with the Senior level potentially involving leadership to less experienced staff and a Grade Level of 12.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in monitoring the company's health standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations; evaluates and interprets current regulations and assists in compliance
  • Provides technical and/or functional guidance to the IH team
  • Development and delivery of IH Technician training
  • May provide leadership to less experienced Industrial Hygienists and Technicians
  • Provides interpretative guidance regarding IH monitoring results and recommends appropriate controls
  • Reviews and approves IH sampling surveys
  • Communicates IH sampling results to monitored employee and supervision
  • Contributes to the modification of policies and procedures to enhance the IH Program
  • Identifies hazards and controls required to mitigate the hazards as requested
  • Assists others in developing and implementing programs for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical and biological hazards in project work areas
  • Provides technical guidance in interpreting standards
  • Assist in the development of corrective actions in response to IH Program issues
  • Performs assessments of functional areas of the IH Program
  • Assists in generating reports, charts and spreadsheets as needed
  • Perform duties general/routine to moderately complex in nature

  • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
