About The Position

GHP, an architectural, environmental, and construction services consulting firm based in Nashville, TN, is looking for a technically minded environmental professional with a strong science background and a focus on the impact of the environment on health. We are seeking an Industrial Hygienist I in our Denver, CO office who has active Asbestos and Mold certifications or is working toward certification achievement. In this Industrial Hygienist I position, you will conduct various tests and analyses to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases; collect building material samples for asbestos content, mold growth, and other potentially hazardous materials; collect samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis; perform moisture intrusion assessments and create moisture maps for water impacted facilities; perform industrial hygiene field measurements and safety evaluations; determine appropriate monitoring and sampling strategies, if indicated, and conduct these activities; maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment; prepare accurate and complete technical reports of survey findings and provide recommendations on how to correct hazardous conditions; have the ability to meet deadlines with quality work; coordinate sub-consultants, sub-contractors, and team members (external and internal) to assist in the successful completion of the project; provide appropriate and quality documentation necessary for a successful project; ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures; and utilize technology to enhance Project efficiency and performance – including ERP and Document Control software.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health, Biology, Science, or a related degree in an equivalent area of study
  • 2-4 Years of progressive experience in the Industrial Hygiene field
  • In lieu of degree, a proven history of relevant experience will be considered
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • U.S. citizen (unable to sponsor visas)
  • Willing to travel on an emergency as well as scheduled basis
  • Physical ability to go to job sites, climb ladders, and lift 20 pounds or more
