About The Position

Entek Consulting Group is seeking dependable, hard-working Field Technicians and Field Specialists to join our environmental/industrial hygiene field operations team. The Field Technician is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who enjoy physical, hands-on work, early mornings, overtime opportunities, and working outdoors in all conditions. No experience is required, we will train the right candidate and provide all necessary tools for success. The Field Technician role is the pathway for promotion to a Field Specialist, which requires a CSST or ability to obtain a CSST within 6 months. This role regularly engages in outdoor work and successful candidates will need to be able to perform work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather. This job requires climbing of ladders, working on elevated platforms and roofs, and working in confined spaces. Field Technicians regularly need to transport, lift, and carry customary job tools, up to 50lbs. This role reports directly to an IH Project Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Our field roles work a shift range between 6am and 8pm, with occasional weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (additional education or technical training welcome).
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and ability to maintain required insurance (mileage reimbursed).
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally work while wearing full PPE including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, hard hats, and safety gear.
  • Must be able to work at heights, on ladders, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform physically demanding field tasks.
  • Ability to follow detailed safety procedures, protocols, and sampling instructions.
  • Willingness to work all types of field assignments, including strenuous or dirty environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, trades, restoration, environmental field work, or similar hands-on roles.
  • Interest in career growth, and potentially obtaining certifications such as CSST, Lead Sampling Technician, asbestos/lead worker cards, or other industry credentials (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing environmental field sampling including air monitoring, bulk material sampling, surface sampling, and exposure measurements.
  • Assist with hazardous materials surveys, water intrusion responses, and other field investigations.
  • Access a variety of environments such as roofs, crawlspaces, attics, containments, mechanical rooms, and outdoor sites.
  • Complete field notes and documentation.
  • Properly handle, package, label, and transport samples to laboratories.
  • Maintain field equipment, tools, and supplies in good working condition.
  • Work rotating shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional emergency response call-outs.
