About The Position

The Industrial HVAC Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the HVAC systems at our chemical manufacturing facility. They are responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years of heavy industrial/commercial HVAC service, installations, and repairs experience through an apprenticeship program, classroom education, and/or on-the-job training
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with prolonged standing and walking
  • Ability to complete and maintain internal safety training requirements
  • Communicate well both verbal and written
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team and be dependable and cross-functional
  • Ability to solder
  • Knowledge of doing leak checks

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with computers preferred; ability to retrieve information and navigate through systems
  • Execution of preventative and predictive maintenance activities
  • A strong understanding of electrical systems, up to 480VAC
  • Training and / or experience on process equipment refrigeration systems a plus
  • Experience with chillers, ventilation, heating, and air conditioning systems and all the components involved in these processes a plus
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred
  • Knowledge of pneumatic valves and controls a plus
  • Familiarization of flooded chillers a plus

Responsibilities

  • Abiding by all safety guidelines and working instructions of AdvanSix
  • Working on a wide variety of refrigeration/HVAC equipment
  • Training for and performing other tasks as needs are presented
  • Assisting with modernization of buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Performing maintenance items such as, bearing, motor, belt, pulley, and filter replacements
  • Participating in Maintenance Excellence program
  • Could be working outdoors in adverse weather conditions
