About The Position

Fluor is looking for an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to support operations at the Rand Whitney Containerboard paper mill in Montville, CT. This is a hands-on role in a heavy industry environment where reliability, safety, and teamwork matter every day. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
4+ years of HVAC experience
Strong troubleshooting skills with 24V and 120V control circuits
Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc)
Ability to follow strict safety procedures, including Lock Tag Try and confined space protocols
Detail oriented mindset and willingness to document work properly

Nice To Haves

S 2 license preferred, or a 2 year HVAC certificate/trade school equivalent
Industrial experience a plus

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC systems throughout the mill
Read and work from blueprints, P&IDs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and single line drawings
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, glycol loops, air makeup units, and plant exhaust equipment
Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amprobes, RTD/mA/T C calibrators, and laptops for system communication
Work closely with E&I technicians when needed
Follow step by step calibration and startup procedures
Enter work orders, parts, and PM data into the CMMS (Maximo)
Troubleshoot 480V 3 phase motor starter circuits and 120/24V control circuits
Diagnose control issues using your understanding of PLC logic and operation
