About The Position

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work. The purpose of this position is to support the Quality System needs of the IGT Division-San Antonio Service Center and provide a resource for developing and implementing good Quality practices while supporting the Division’s overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering degree
  • 5+ years of related field experience (Power Industry – Steam/Gas Turbines)
  • Process knowledge in the Power Industry
  • detailed knowledge & proficiency in Quality Systems – ISO requirements familiarity
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action
  • proficiency in current PC technology & effective use of software to create forms/documents.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision – self-starter
  • Ability to effectively perform & contribute to a team environment
  • Effectively work with & accomplish multiple priorities
  • Effective organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to identify, analyze, & solve Quality problems with practical solutions
  • Provide technical guidance on Quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct In-Process operations audits and Quality System Audits of the IGT Division to assure proper practices and verifications are being used and to identify and drive improvement.
  • Support customer audits as required.
  • Coordinate the Quality Incident Process and apply Root Cause Analysis to ensure learning and prevent future incidents.
  • Collect, maintain & analyze Cost of Quality and Cost of EBIT data to help drive continuous improvement & resolve high-impact or repetitive Quality problems.
  • Initiate Quality Alerts and Technical Bulletins where applicable.
  • Coordinate regular Quality/Management Reviews to review Division performance against goals/objectives – establish, implement, and track improvement priorities.
  • Prepare, develop, & maintain needed work instructions/procedures & data/check sheets to support the business processes.
  • Monitor Supplier Quality performance.
  • Support the qualification of new Suppliers.
  • Work with Key Suppliers to improve their Quality performance, where needed.
  • Audit new & existing suppliers where needed.
  • Achieve and maintain ISO 9001 Quality Certification by assuring compliance with all applicable ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Assure consistent tracking & calibration of IGT gauges, standards, & test equipment.
  • Establish & develop effective lines of communication with IGT and MD&A personnel, supervisors/managers, and customers where applicable.
  • Provide Quality training to employees on their responsibilities for supporting the Quality System and Division business objectives.
