About The Position

The Plant Engineering Life Safety Technician is responsible for providing cultural leadership by exemplifying core values. This role involves coordinating, planning, and performing equipment preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvements. The technician will also manage contractors, provide technical guidance to other technicians, and be involved in SOP development and training. A key aspect of this position is supporting root cause investigations and implementing solutions, with a primary focus on life safety systems. This includes expertise in system 16 control panel connections to remote gas detectors/transmitters, Vertex TGMS and chemcassette technology, and fire systems. The role requires troubleshooting 4-20mA analog or digital sensor inputs for TGMS, responding to alarms, and understanding the programming of relays, horns, shutoff valves, and ventilation. Additionally, the technician will handle the unloading, receipt, and storage of chemical deliveries, review certificates of analysis, and develop annual plans for equipment activities and capital planning. Ensuring site uptime and equipment reliability is crucial. Responsibilities extend to managing chemical inventory (FIFO), hazardous waste handling, resist canister changes, and maintaining chemical and slurry distribution parameters. This includes drum/tote/isotainer chemical offloading, batch processing, SPC chart monitoring, and chemical sampling. Maintaining equipment uptime involves maintenance and troubleshooting of systems such as valves, filters, piping, pumps, and instrumentation. The technician will operate system equipment via HMI for batch creation and distribution, monitor and operate HVAC equipment, and respond to critical equipment like boilers, cooling towers, and chillers for clean room operations. Other key equipment includes scrubber systems, fire systems, vacuum, and compressed air. The role also involves operating the DI water plant, performing system rounds, rotating equipment, working within defined technical processes, initiating continuous improvements, and upholding area upkeep and 5S principles. The ability to operate heavy machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks is required, as is cross-departmental collaboration and escalation when necessary. Completing assigned preventative maintenance tasks and record-keeping/reporting are also key duties.
