Industrial Estimator
About The Position
ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced Industrial Estimator to join our Industrial team. This role provides leadership and support to the company's Industrial estimating department across the United States, with a focus on special projects installation. The Industrial Estimator acts as a key company representative, collaborating with the Industrial Sales Engineer to develop cost-effective and efficient estimates for new and existing clients, ensuring a consistent and profitable workflow for the Industrial Refrigeration Department. ColonialWebb is a full-service MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contractor with over 50 years of experience, specializing in New Construction, Mechanical Service, Industrial Refrigeration, and Manufacturing. Requirements
- Knowledge of the Industrial Industry, principles, and practices related to industrial process piping construction project estimation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR 7 years minimum experience working for a refrigeration contractor on industrial systems design OR 10 years in piping estimating.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates.
- Ability to set and balance competing priorities with strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
- Ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Good communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills.
- Computer literate with MS Office product offerings including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Nice To Haves
- General proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Face to face interactions with clients to conceptualize and coordinate solutions to challenges.
- Communicate effective solutions on both a big picture and technical level.
- Coordinate effectively with vendors and sub-contractors to provide relevant conceptual information for detailed scopes of work.
- Document and execute detailed scopes of work.
- Communicate pipeline activities regularly to ensure a steady workload and encourage department growth.
- Identify opportunities for department growth.
- Provide timely communication within the department and across organizational lines.
