About The Position

Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc., a leading designer, marketer, and distributor of small household and commercial appliances, is seeking an Industrial Engineering intern for its Southern Pines, NC facility. This facility operates as a returns center, repair/refurbishment center, parts distribution center, and customer contact center. The internship is designed for rising seniors to work full-time during the summer, with a potential for part-time continuation into the school year if mutually agreed upon. Candidates should have completed three years of an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Industrial Engineering, though other engineering majors with relevant coursework or experience may be considered. The intern will be mentored by local management.

Requirements

• Completed three years of an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree program
• Preferably with a major in Industrial Engineering
• May consider other engineering majors who have relevant coursework and/or work experience

Responsibilities

• Perform time-motion studies
• Optimize production line and work cell balance for product refurbishment
• Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures
• Provide support in quality control, quality assurance inspection and testing efforts
• Prepare/automate reports and dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
• Data analysis
• Written and oral presentations to corporate management
