About The Position

RTX is offering an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Engineering Co-op student to gain hands-on experience in the aerospace and defense industry. This role involves collaborating with manufacturing teams, designing tooling, analyzing production processes, and contributing to cost control and productivity improvement initiatives. The co-op will provide a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering (or a similar applicable field) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Collaborate directly with manufacturing production floor employees, including operators, inspectors, quality, and test technicians, to solve day-to-day issues and proactively address longer-term projects to eliminate recurring problems.
Design tooling to aid the manufacturing process, leveraging additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support production needs.
Analyze and support tasks such as layout optimization, flow improvement, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
Assist in planning and allocating resources, materials, and personnel to maximize equipment utilization.
Conduct studies focused on cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
