About The Position

Applied Materials is hiring an Industrial Engineer V to join an internal consulting team with direct exposure to Applied Global Services executive leadership. The position owns projects from opportunity identification through implementation and value realization. It applies data-driven insights, structured problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration, and requires strong analytical skills, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization. The role is based in Santa Clara, California, offers a salary range of $154,000 to $212,000, and includes travel of 10% of the time. Relocation is eligible.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 10 or more years of relevant experience in management consulting, internal consulting, industrial engineering, business transformation, operations strategy, or related disciplines.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to derive actionable insights from complex and disparate data sources.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent analytics and business intelligence platforms.
• Experience working across cross-functional organizations, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product Development, and Supply Chain.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive execution in a highly matrixed environment.
• Experience leading large-scale business transformation, operational excellence, or strategic improvement initiatives.
• Strong executive communication skills, including explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely to senior leadership.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented approach, with the ability to connect disparate information, identify root causes, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Broad business acumen, including experience in service business management, product development, operational strategy, and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, business process improvement, and change management methodologies.

Nice To Haves

• Prior management consulting or internal consulting experience.
• MBA or equivalent business experience.
• Semiconductor industry experience; experience in other complex global manufacturing or technology environments will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple workstreams and project teams, ensuring delivery against objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Optimize operations and business processes to improve growth, productivity, profitability, customer experience, cycle time, and costs.
