About The Position

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining the bill of material, bill of operations, manufacturing time studies, and process flow analysis. They will lead process improvement projects and customer sample orders to assist in new business development. The role also involves preparing AutoCAD drawings for production and customer requests, and updating existing SKU drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Engineering, Preferably Industrial Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in product cost development in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma
  • AutoCAD experience

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain standard routings and bill of materials in AX system for manufactured products, understanding all manufacturing processes including setup times.
  • Lead the Product Costing Process (Qtest) in conjunction with the plant controller, including the Product Configurator process, system updates, and working with programmers on improvements.
  • Review labor efficiencies on existing product construction for future routing improvements, discussing positive and negative labor efficiencies with the Plant Controller.
  • Take the lead in the sample order workflow process to coordinate with production, sales, sourcing, and quality departments.
  • Perform time studies on manufacturing processes to validate routings and identify process improvement areas. Mine data from past production work orders.
  • Work with the Production Supervisor using lean principles such as Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen. Assist in the design layout for production lines and warehouse to improve space utilization, automation, and work center flow.
  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and submit for review and approval, working with Technical and Quality for support. This includes documentation, drawing updates, and notifications after approval.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor, Technical Sales, Master Scheduler, and production personnel on new and existing construction methodologies as it relates to cost and manufacturing processes, including equipment improvements.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings for production on new SKUs, update existing SKU drawings as applicable. Work with sales and technical to develop customer approval drawings for customer-supplied filters for quoting/manufacturing purposes.
  • Active participant or resource for Safety, Environment, and ISO.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by Manager.
