The Industrial Engineer II is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area. This role involves championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values, and being responsible for the successful completion of projects with clearly defined goals and scope. The engineer will evaluate needs, analyze options, develop plans, create Appropriation Requests (AR), and manage project implementation within the allotted time frame. They will also assist support personnel in less complex technical matters, develop, install, and maintain optimum processes for safe and productive manufacturing of quality products using modern methods, and develop procedures in standardized work format. Training on new processes, tools, and equipment, including workplace layout and methods using motion economy principles, ergonomics, and handling devices, is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining equitable labor standards, adhering to organizational procedures for delay studies and labor standards, and ensuring accurate maintenance of routing and bills of material files on the corporate manufacturing data management system. The engineer will implement existing measurement tools to assist productivity improvements and coordinate corrections to production problems using sound industrial engineering techniques, potentially developing alternate methods or processes for emergency production. Demonstrating regular attendance, timeliness, and the ability to work well with others are also essential.
