About The Position

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The Production Operations team is seeking an Industrial Engineer specializing in execution of complex Test, Development, and Data Processing needs to support mechanical, electrical and optical hardware builds. This role requires hands-on expertise in both mechanical and electrical domains, enabling the seamless execution of hardware automation, instrumentation, and post-processing. This position requires strong conceptual development and the proficient use, and implementation, of various testing and automation processes within a production environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
• Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of satellite communications ground systems and operations experience
• Experience in creating products and services with hardware and software integrated
• Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
• Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
• Experience integrating component modules (I/O, Displays, Batteries, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of tasks, including: discrete event simulations, data processing, and operational support.
• Work closely with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to develop functional prototype hardware of complex electro/mechanical systems.
• Drive technical innovation and exhibit consistent high-level of quality and speed.
