About The Position

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for an Industrial Engineer to join their team. The team manufactures crucial aircraft components, and the facility specializes in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures, including components for the Airbus A350 XWB. The role involves analyzing and designing operational sequences and workflow to improve efficiencies, optimizing production facilities and equipment layouts, and ensuring maximum utilization of resources and product flow. The position may also involve establishing accident prevention measures, managing training programs, conducting cost control studies, and assisting with facility planning and design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years related experience in an Engineer role
  • Microsoft Office - advanced skill level
  • Knowledge of IE Tools used in production ie: capacity analysis, facility layout, and production improvements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an Aircraft or Aerospace Manufacturing environment
  • Finance experience

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.
  • Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow.
  • May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures.
  • May manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Develops and implements optimized product flow based on studies.
  • May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
  • Develops and provides time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.
  • Utilizes analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization as well as line balancing.
  • Performs trend analysis of shop performance measures to identify opportunities for improvements.
