Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering required
  • 3-5 years’ experience required
  • Experience in a 3rd party logistics company a must
  • Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management System functionality
  • Good computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with lean or other continuous improvement tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and implementation of supply chain solutions for new and existing clients in warehousing, distribution, in-plant logistics, value-added services, and inventory management.
  • Manage productivity improvement activities at two or more 3PL facilities, including auditing processes, defining material flow and layouts, developing work procedures, method analysis, and maintaining job standards.
  • Define site processes and procedures supporting time studies, layout evaluations, and capacity analysis for existing operations and future proposals.
  • Conduct special projects such as facility utilization analysis, capacity evaluations, material flow analysis, and root cause analysis for inventory control and shipment issues.
  • Evaluate space utilization against original contract agreements.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and negotiate contract requirements against actual requirements (headcount, equipment, handling, space).
  • Assist with training facility personnel on documented work instructions and material handling equipment.
  • Participate in Unit Testing, Systems Testing, and User Acceptance Testing of Warehouse Management Systems, validating operational requirements against system configuration.
  • Develop detailed project plans for layout design, equipment procurement and installation, labor hiring, systems design and implementation, process development (inbound, outbound, inventory), training, and go-live.
  • Perform Time Studies to support headcount requirements for existing and future programs.
  • Conduct special projects including dock capacity evaluations, material flow analysis, and root cause analysis for inventory control issues.
  • Support facilities in maintaining or obtaining compliance with ISO 9001:2008 Standard.
  • Perform Time Studies to support piece price billing alternatives.
  • Lead and support problem-solving teams within facilities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry standards and new technology for continuous improvement.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Warehouse Management System capabilities.
  • Validate safe working practices at each facility on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in Request for Proposal (RFP) response activities, including pricing development, understanding scope and customer expectations, operations design, project management, developing transition timelines, and customer presentations.
  • Investigate opportunities to optimize existing warehouse processes to achieve 2%-3% cost savings through Projects, Kaizen, DMAIC, and Automation projects.
  • Mentor Industrial Engineers in best practices for warehouse design, data analysis, training, and go-live.
  • Present warehouse solutions and CI projects to customers with effective communication and strong presentation skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
