About The Position

The Albertsons Companies Workforce Management Team plays a key role in identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting business partners in determining labor ROI on program initiatives for the retail space. This partners with the development and support labor management tools and processes to analyze store labor spend across approximately 2,230 (and growing) facilities throughout the US. To support our growing platform solution in our divisions, we are seeking an Industrial Engineer – Workforce Management to join our dynamic team. The position will be based in Boise, Idaho.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or similar discipline or 3-5 years' experience in related field
  • Understanding of basic Industrial Engineering methods and principles
  • MTM/MOST
  • Work Sampling / Delay Studies
  • Time and Motion Studies
  • Methods Engineering
  • Knowledge or experience with engineered labor standards and labor management systems
  • Able to develop and implement engineered labor standards in retail environment
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, DMAIC) and familiarity with process mapping software
  • Analytical thinker with strong mathematical, statistical analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced PC skills in MS Office (Excel, Access, Essbase, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong database skills with the ability to develop and program in Visual Basic and SQL a plus
  • Ability to effectively work independently and remotely while taking ownership in various WFM projects.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage the prioritization of a variety of programs in response to changing business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Productivity improvement opportunity pipeline — identification, development, sizing, prioritization, and progression of opportunities
  • Development and validation of engineered labor standards
  • Labor model development, analysis, and maintenance within assigned areas
  • Work measurement, including MOST, time studies, and operational observations
  • Current-state analysis and future-state process design
  • Identification and quantification of productivity opportunities
  • Validation of workload assumptions and labor model inputs
  • Analysis of gaps between modeled and actual performance
  • Operational testing and validation of proposed process changes
  • Documentation of standards, methods, assumptions, and findings
  • Productivity measurement and support during pilots
  • Visibility to the status, value, and next steps of productivity opportunities
