About The Position

The Industrial Engineering Intern position is responsible for working with other engineers to fulfill engineering duties and assist with projects as needed. Under supervision of engineers, the intern will work to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and service. Participants may also make changes to BOMs and develop technical skills through challenging assignments and usage of technical tools. The role involves supporting new product development in the Consumer Power generator or Power Tool product area, including creating and maintaining CAD models, drawings, and BOMs, supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs), and interfacing with internal company personnel. The intern will provide technical support for assigned projects, specify precise new product functional requirements, design, test, and integrate standard, less complex components, and evaluate the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Additionally, the intern will design, develop, execute, and evaluate fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans for standard products and/or components, and create and review material part specifications and bills of materials. Collaboration with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize basic designs for manufacturability is expected. The intern will utilize CAD or CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
