About The Position

Heroux-Devtek is an international leader in aviation and the world's 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serving civil and military aerospace markets. The company is seeking an Industrial Engineer to create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to reduce costs while maintaining operational standards for the production of commercial and military landing gear. The facility in Strongsville is a center of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear, with over 90 employees and 100,000 sq. ft. of space. This position is part of the Central Division and will focus on critical machining operations for major commercial and military aircraft programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Possess a solid foundation in manufacturing engineering practices and processes.
  • Computer software literacy. (Office, Microsoft Project)
  • Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior management and subject matter experts to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.
  • Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts to improve repetitive motions. Reduce or eliminate inefficient processes to maximize operational effectiveness for lines including but not limited to: electro-plating, machine grinding, bushing installation, industrial painting, and assembly.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization's competitive edge.
  • Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions, while maintaining AS9100, NADCAP, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
  • Studying and improving the manufacturing process by monitoring quality, cycle times and methods of operations.
  • Conducting oneself in a professional manner and adhering to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
