About The Position

Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging. This role involves being the primary problem-solver for electrical and controls issues on high-speed manufacturing lines. The position requires a blend of proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration to ensure high uptime and consistent quality. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical and controls issues, completing work orders with detailed documentation, working from electrical drawings and schematics, using electrical test equipment, troubleshooting PLC hardware and automation components, and applying the National Electrical Code (NEC). The role also requires planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks, communicating effectively, and flexing hours as needed to support production. Systems supported include AC and DC motors, motor controls, VFDs, electrical distribution, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, extruders, winders, packing and box machinery, slitters, center-folders, grinders, shredders, chillers, heat exchangers, conveyors, and air compressors.

Requirements

One (1) year as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician; or two (2) years of related trade/technical school; or four (4) years Industrial/Manufacturing experience with strong electrical KSA.
Solid mechanical aptitude.
Comfort working independently, alongside skilled trades or operations, and within a team with limited supervision.
Ability to stand for long periods; climb, kneel, squat, and crawl.
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Experience with electrical equipment, instrumentation/controls, AC/DC motors and MCCs, electrical distribution, AC VFDs/DC drives, PLCs/automation, and OSHA-aligned industrial practices.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical and controls issues quickly and safely to minimize downtime.
Complete and close work orders with detailed records and documentation.
Work from electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams; prepare accurate technical reports.
Use electrical test equipment and interpret readings to isolate faults.
Troubleshoot PLC hardware and related automation components.
Apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) appropriately and consistently.
Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks; handle multiple priorities under pressure.
Communicate clearly with teammates, supervisors, and managers.
Flex hours as needed to support production needs.
