About The Position

Rogers Group Inc is seeking an Industrial Electrician for their 3 local quarries. This role involves analyzing and correcting electrical problems, and repairing and overhauling electrical equipment and controls. The position requires an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. The company is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees, established in 1908, and is the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of previous electrical experience is required
  • Industrial electrical experience is required
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • Experience working with High Voltage (480 volts) required
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimal of a journeyman's license strongly preferred
  • Industrial electrical experience in a mining environment is preferred
  • Familiarity and experience working with PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers)

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems.
  • Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions from supervisor covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed.
  • Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
  • Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, then splicing pieces as required.
  • Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
  • Determines need for, analyzes, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Advises and cautions operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.
