Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Electrician at our Morton, IL facility! This full-time position offers a starting pay range of $35.81 – $36.43 per hour, plus a $1.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift (based on experience). This role also includes a retention bonus, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan. Position Summary: As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for building, installing, and repairing electrical and electronic circuits used in machine tools and plant equipment. You will apply your knowledge of electrical systems to test, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret oral instructions and written work orders
  • Proficiency in electrical and electronic theory as it relates to plant operations
  • Intermediate ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical/electronic experience (or equivalent) for intermediate-level tasks
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical installation/repair experience (or equivalent)

  • Willingness to work overtime to support production demands
  • Minimum of 3 years experience maintaining electrical equipment in an industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Experience maintaining electrical equipment in an industrial environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing CNC/PLC controlled machines
  • Experience with AC/DC analog and digital drives
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate or higher proficiency in reading and interpreting machine tool prints/schematics
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to operate basic tools to complete the job
  • Demonstrate comprehension of oral instructions and/or printed work orders to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in electrical theory and application relating to plant operations equipment
