About The Position

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in our industrial facilities. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, compressed air systems, dock doors, and other ancillary non-production equipment. You will also perform general building maintenance as required such as drywall repair, painting, supply/exhaust fans, etc. You will complete tasks as part of a team or on your own, troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical malfunctions to minimize downtime. You will read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for accurate installation and repairs, and conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery. Ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies is crucial, as is upgrading and modifying electrical systems to meet operational needs and improve efficiency. You will ensure that motors and panels are maintained safely and assist with electrical project installation. You will operate a range of equipment, including motor control and switchgear, as well as conveyors and PLCs, safely. You will ensure that corporate policies, procedures, and operational safety requirements are followed. You will work with low to medium-voltage equipment, control systems, motors, and other industrial machinery. Collaboration with engineers, maintenance staff, and other team members on electrical projects is expected, and you will maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work. Following strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment is paramount.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical industry
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and hand tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
