About The Position

A long-established centrifugal metal casting and machining manufacturer in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is hiring an Industrial Electrician for its maintenance department. The company produces engineered metal components for aerospace, petrochemical, mining, nuclear power, and turbine engine markets. This is a full-time, direct-hire position on 2nd or 3rd shift, with pay of $28.39 to $42.59 per hour depending on experience. The Industrial Electrician installs, services, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains plant electrical distribution and control systems and a variety of foundry, machining, CNC, and material-handling equipment. Work must comply with NEC and OSHA requirements. The electrician may instruct and assign work to other electricians.

Requirements

Completed electrician apprenticeship or similar experience.
Experience installing and troubleshooting relay- and PLC-controlled equipment.
Thorough knowledge of applicable electrical codes.
Knowledge of DC motors and drives, AC motors and variable frequency drives, and servo systems.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Industrial electrician experience.
PLC programming experience.
Experience with voltages above 480V.

Responsibilities

Use diagrams and schematics to install and service plant electrical distribution and control systems, including switches, control panels, electronic devices, and related equipment.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain foundry equipment, including ARC and induction furnaces and casting machines.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machining equipment, CNC machine tools, and material-handling equipment.
Perform work in compliance with NEC and OSHA requirements.
May instruct and assign work to other electricians.
