Requirements

  • Industrial Electrician with 5 or more years of experience in: Manufacturing production, Relay logic, PLCs, Process control
  • A keen problem solver with an aptitude for troubleshooting, including PLC
  • A systems thinker with an aptitude for creating innovative and efficient solutions
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts across a variety of stakeholders
  • A dependable, collaborative team member with excellent organizational skills
  • An enthusiastic learner, driven to take on new challenges
  • Must hold or have the ability to obtain a New Hanover County journeyman’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform all the essential duties listed above
  • Familiarity with: PLCs, A/C motor drives, RS Logix 500 & 5000, Safety Controllers, HMI, FTView SE/ME, etc.
  • Networking experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency service on engineered lumber production equipment
  • Apply skills to perform assigned tasks, maintaining high quality of workmanship as per NEC requirements
  • Maintain and troubleshoots plant manufacturing operations and control systems to ensure safety and reliability
  • Participate in improvement projects, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling and closing
  • Recommend and implement new technologies to maximize plant efficiency
  • Install branch distribution circuits to support new equipment installations
  • Train in the operation and maintenance of all critical facility systems.
  • Interface and coordinate within and across departments to troubleshoot and maintain operational performance
  • Communicate electrical concepts to all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to learn and utilize maintenance work order system
  • Continuously innovate to support optimized production capacity
  • Produce detailed documentation for revisions made
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics and building plans
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
  • Perform other duties as required
