About The Position

Interfor Bathurst NB is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to join our team as an Certified Industrial Electrician in Bathurst. This role involves performing electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the entire mill site, including routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various control systems. The position requires adherence to strict safety policies, effective work management with minimal supervision, and accurate documentation of work performed.

Requirements

  • Electrical license (industrial)
  • Relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (ideally in a sawmill or heavy industry setting)
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues efficiently
  • Strong commitment to health and safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a production environment
  • Availability to work rotating shifts (day, evening, night) and overtime as required
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering quality work

Responsibilities

  • Perform any and all electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the entire mill site.
  • Read, write, and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all Programmable Logic Controller (P.L.C.) controls, A.C inverters, or any other control systems throughout the mill site.
  • Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
  • Effectively manage and plan work to accomplish job tasks with minimal direct supervision.
  • Submit work requests.
  • Fill out completed work orders listing work done, parts used, and time taken to complete the job.
  • Perform any other duties in any area requested by Supervisor.
