About The Position

The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring for a long-term position in the Seaford, DE area for an Industrial Electrician. This role involves working 4 x 10 hour shifts plus overtime as needed. Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as an Industrial Electrician in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment, and possess a Delaware Journeyman Electrician’s License. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly. Applicants must be craft certified or able to pass a craft test, and successfully pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and other required qualifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as an Industrial Electrician in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment
  • Delaware Journeyman Electrician’s License
  • Ability to pass a craft test
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand and power tools
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
  • Install ground leads and power cables to equipment, such as motors
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
  • Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
  • Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times
