About The Position

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the manufacturing facility. This position supports production uptime, equipment reliability, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities while ensuring compliance with all applicable electrical codes, company policies, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician Card, Electrical License, or equivalent industrial electrical experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of: PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), VFDs and servo drives, Motor controls, Industrial networking and communication systems, Robotics and automated equipment.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance systems and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC machine troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with induction equipment, heat treat systems, or automated manufacturing lines.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on manufacturing equipment, CNC machines, automated systems, and facility systems.
  • Install, maintain, and modify electrical wiring, panels, conduit, motors, drives, sensors, relays, and control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment and automated machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, motor controls, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Assist with machine startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain facility electrical systems including lighting, transformers, disconnects, and power distribution equipment.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, amp clamps, and oscilloscopes.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all company safety requirements.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage within maintenance systems or work orders.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and outside contractors as needed.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate parts requirements to supervision.
  • Assist in training maintenance personnel and machine operators on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Support company goals related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization in maintenance and production areas.
