About The Position
Silgan Containers is looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician / PLC Programmer to join our Plover, Wisconsin manufacturing team. This role involves troubleshooting, working with advanced controls, mentoring others, and taking ownership of electrical systems. Requirements
- 5+ years of industrial electrical experience
- Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems
- Strong PLC troubleshooting/programming experience
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Ability to mentor, train, and provide technical leadership to other electricians
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and electrical compliance
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, including days and nights
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of complex industrial electrical systems
- Mentor and train entry-level and journeyman electricians
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and support Allen-Bradley PLC systems
- Oversee and support PLC programming and controls-related work
- Develop and implement preventative electrical maintenance strategies
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Ensure electrical installations, repairs, and modifications meet safety and compliance requirements
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper electrical safety practices
