About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Scaffold Hoist Motor Technician to join their team in Austin, Texas. This role involves conducting post-rental inspections, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, conducting annual inspections, and repairing swing stage hoist motors to ensure safe operating conditions. The company is looking for technicians skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems. Prior experience with construction hoists, elevators, cranes, suspended scaffolds, or similar lifting equipment is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will confidently diagnose electrical issues, execute repairs, and handle preventive maintenance on electric scaffold hoist motors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (trade school education preferred).
• 1+ years of Scaffold Hoist experience or relevant mechanical/electrical repair background.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, tools, and safety requirements.
• Proven troubleshooting, work planning, and communication skills.
• Flexibility regarding work assignments and a strong commitment to equipment safety.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with construction hoists, elevators, cranes, suspended scaffolds, or similar lifting equipment is highly desirable.
• Industrial Maintenance Technicians, Electro-Mechanical Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Technicians, Elevator Technicians, and Field Service Technicians with strong electrical troubleshooting expertise are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment as required to keep in proper and safe working condition.
• Perform safety inspections on equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime.
• Maintain a clean and safe shop and/or work environment.
• Meet all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
