About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate has approximately 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, strong electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing industrial electrical systems and production equipment. Advanced PLC programming experience is not required; basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge is preferred.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong hands-on industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair electrical equipment failures.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot using electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience troubleshooting and replacing industrial motors.
  • Experience with industrial motor controls, including contactors, overloads, starters, and VFDs.
  • Experience working with industrial electrical systems, including 480V equipment.
  • Ability to safely use a multimeter and other electrical troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety practices.
  • Basic understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial sensors.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the maintenance and production teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or thermoforming.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC systems.
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with heater circuits, thermocouples, vacuum systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • VFD and industrial motor control training.
  • NFPA 70E or OSHA safety training.
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License or other relevant electrical certification.
  • Experience using CMMS or ERP maintenance work-order systems.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot 480V industrial power, motors, motor starters, contactors, overloads, breakers, fuses, relays, VFDs, sensors, switches, heaters, thermocouples, and electrical control panels.
  • Diagnose motor failures and safely remove, replace, wire, test, and return motors to service.
  • Use multimeters and other electrical diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults safely.
  • Independently troubleshoot equipment downtime and restore production safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, control panels, motors, and safety systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic PLC I/O, sensors, and control signals when needed.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, arc flash, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety requirements.
  • Verify equipment is safe before returning it to production.
  • Support installation, startup, and modification of production equipment.
  • Work with mechanical maintenance technicians, operators, engineering, and outside contractors when necessary.
  • Document completed maintenance work and update work orders in the company ERP system.
  • Support extrusion and thermoforming production equipment.
