About The Position

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. Textron Specialized Vehicles markets products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Transportation Design, or related field required. Associates degree with appropriate YOE is accepted.
  • 2+ years of experience (5+ years with an associate’s degree) required.
  • Familiarity in CAD software (NX preferred; SolidWorks, Rhino acceptable) required.
  • Strong rendering and visualization capability (KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop) required.
  • Portfolio demonstrating concept ideation, 3D modeling, aesthetics, and user-centered design thinking.
  • Experience generating early-stage concept options with speed and clarity.
  • Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and iterate quickly.
  • Understanding of ergonomics, human factors, and end-use environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with rapid prototyping methods and digital/VR modeling is a plus.
  • Automotive, powersports, or vehicle-related design experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and iterate sketches, renderings, 3D CAD models, and visual assets to bring product strategy concepts to an understandable vision, exercising independent judgment to explore and recommend multiple innovative design directions.
  • Produce fast‑turn concept iterations that help teams move from idea to concept to executive‑ready pitch, influencing early product strategy and leadership decision‑making through professional design expertise.
  • Build visually compelling concept decks and narratives that communicate design intent and articulate why concepts matter from both customer and business perspectives.
  • Partner and collaborate with product managers to translate customer insights and market opportunities into clear design direction.
  • Lead and participate in cross‑functional ideation and brainstorming sessions, incorporating voice of customer, brand alignment, functional intent, and early manufacturability considerations into concept development.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and program managers to validate vehicle integration and manufacturability early, ensuring feasibility informs — but does not constrain — creative exploration.
  • Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to ensure concepts align with TSV brand identity.
  • Support rapid prototyping efforts — physical, digital, or VR — to test desirability and viability early.
  • Communicate design intent through visuals, storytelling, and prototype walkthroughs to diverse stakeholders, using professional judgment to inform leadership decisions on early product direction.
  • Contribute to design standards, templates, and best practices while staying current on industry trends, emerging materials, and evolving UI/UX expectations.
