About The Position

The role of an Industrial Designer at Tekna is to provide solutions that address identified user needs, while helping our clients meet their business objectives. Solutions will be developed using a combination of the following tools: market, ergonomic and user scenario research, sketching, rendering, study models, computer models, and final production quality prototypes. Tekna is largely client focused offering design consulting, contract manufacturing and original equipment manufacturing services. Tekna’s cross functional teams include Design Engineering, Industrial Design, CAD, Procurement, Production and Quality which offers a friendly and supportive team atmosphere. Requirements

• Bachelors Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelors Science in Industrial Design (BSID)
• 3-5 years in corporate or consulting environments.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal.
• Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Design and Engineering Leads to scope projects to gain an understanding for clients’ business objectives.
• Assist in the development of the work approach and strategy.
• Participate in and lead a variety of research activities.
• Possess and demonstrate a high skill level in fundamental design tools and practices.
• Maintain our customer’s corporate look and feel based on material selection, color palette, specific design elements or form vocabulary.
