About The Position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a talented Industrial Designer to join our award-winning enterprise design team. In this role, you will research, develop, and execute strategic design solutions that optimize the function, ergonomics, value, and appearance of physical products and systems. You'll contribute to design across three key areas: enhancements to existing products, new physical product designs, and strategic design language initiatives that define our portfolio. Working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, human factors, marketing, and design partners to translate concepts into compelling solutions that power the IT infrastructure of the world's most successful companies.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with both 2D and 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) and visualization tools (KeyShot)
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or equivalent discipline
  • 2-4 years of professional design experience
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Solid understanding of design principles, theories, and manufacturing methods
  • Demonstrated ability in form ideation, sketching, prototyping, and model development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Portfolio of work required – candidates must provide a link to professional design portfolio

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of and experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
  • Understanding and experience in implementing and creating sketches, storyboards, models and prototypes.
  • Experience collaborating with international and distributed teams
  • Knowledge of AI design tools and their applications in the design process

Responsibilities

  • Design portions of industrial solutions for hardware products and systems based on established design principles, strategy, and guidelines
  • Translate ideas and design concepts into project artifacts including sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and digital models
  • Develop and implement design specifications and reusable design elements for new and existing products
  • Conduct user research and gather insights to inform design direction and validate solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and outsourced development partners on design development and implementation
  • Participate as a team member on cross-disciplinary projects to develop holistic design solutions
  • Communicate design proposals, specifications, and data effectively to stakeholders
