About The Position
The custodial staff at Merrell Bros., Inc. plays a very important role in helping improve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in our mechanical shop. Cleaning, maintenance, and organizational experience preferred.
Requirements
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment
- Experience driving fork truck
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Able to lift 50 lbs; consistent heavy lifting
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
Responsibilities
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by removing trash, cleaning equipment & tools, and cleaning/dusting surfaces
- Sweep/mop floors and vacuum carpets; use of industrial floor scrubber
- Pressure washing bays
- Fueling Fleet Vehicles
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
- Wipe mirrors and windows
- Maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances, emptying trash receptacles
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed (fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
- Report major damages to management
- Assist with other tasks to improve the overall efficiency
