Custodian/Industrial Janitor
About The Position
Primary responsibilities include: Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments or buildings to supply machine tenders or operators with materials for processing. Arranges boxes, material, and hand trucks or other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner. Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors. Cleans screens and filters. Scrubs processing tanks and vats. Cleans floors and applies floor drier. Operates a self-propelled floor scrubber requiring 30 pounds of force. Picks up reusable scrap for salvage and stores in containers. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dusts furniture and equipment. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Trash disposal requires lifting trash bags up to 50 lbs overhead into dumpster. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Picks up refuse from plant grounds and maintains area by shoveling snow, and general landscaping cutting brush. Operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variable.
