About The Position

Jurni Design Group is seeking an experienced Industrial CSA Designer II to join our growing team in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This position is responsible for supporting the design and development of industrial projects, with a primary focus on food and beverage processing facilities, cold storage environments, warehousing, and distribution facilities. The CSA Designer II works closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to develop practical, constructible design solutions that meet project objectives. This role participates in all phases of project delivery, including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA), while utilizing advanced Revit and AutoCAD capabilities to produce high-quality design and construction documents. The CSA Designer II serves as a key member of the multi-disciplinary design team and is expected to work independently on design tasks while collaborating with team members to deliver innovative solutions for clients. Jurni Design Group operates within a highly collaborative design-build environment through its partnership with C.R. Crawford Construction and Triton Design Builders. This integrated approach provides designers with direct exposure to construction operations, project execution, and real-time collaboration with construction professionals, resulting in practical and highly constructible design solutions. This position may require occasional travel to client sites, project locations, and permitting agencies. Site visits may be conducted independently or with other team members to gather information, review existing conditions, and support ongoing projects.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of industrial building design and construction.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience producing construction documents in a BIM environment.
  • Familiarity with traditional building systems, construction methods, and industry-standard details.
  • Ability to independently identify design challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building, life safety, accessibility, and zoning codes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, clients, and construction professionals.
  • Associate Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience as a CSA Designer, Architectural Designer, Civil Designer, Structural Designer, or similar role. Degree in drafting/design, civil engineering, or architecture will be considered where experience doesn’t meet minimum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate 2D and 3D drawings and building information models utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Assist in the development of design concepts and construction solutions for industrial projects.
  • Prepare and coordinate Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA) deliverables.
  • Develop project specifications and support project documentation efforts.
  • Independently identify design challenges and develop solutions with guidance from project leads when necessary.
  • Transform preliminary concepts into functional schematic designs for further project development.
  • Conduct site visits to collect project information, verify existing conditions, and support ongoing projects.
  • Perform building code and regulatory reviews to support project layouts and identify compliance issues for the Engineer or Architect of Record.
  • Develop design alternatives and evaluate project solutions.
  • Assist clients and project teams in evaluating project requirements, building codes, zoning regulations, and design options.
  • Coordinate projects through permitting and approval processes with local authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate directly with architects, engineers, and construction teams to develop practical and cost-effective project solutions.
  • Coordinate project information across multiple disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, and specialty consultants.
  • Participate in client meetings, project presentations, and design reviews.
  • Support construction administration activities, including responding to design-related questions and revisions.
  • Assist with maintaining company drafting standards, detail libraries, and design best practices.
  • Maintain project schedules, documentation, and quality standards throughout the design process.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of project, departmental, and organizational objectives.
