About The Position

We are looking for a Craft Electrician to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment and infrastructure across the Kennecott Copper operation. This is a great opportunity for a skilled and safety-conscious electrician to apply their expertise in a complex industrial environment, working a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster. Reporting to the Supervisor – Electrical Maintenance and working in a collaborative and safety-focused environment within Electrical Maintenance, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, diagnosing and repairing motors, maintaining and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters, installing and calibrating instrumentation, and reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams. Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and site-specific policies is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Proven experience working as an industrial or craft electrician in a heavy industrial or mining environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation across low and medium voltage applications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Willingness and ability to work a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster
  • A collaborative mindset with respect for others in a diverse and inclusive team environment

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems from 12V DC to 13.8kV AC, including switchgear, transformers, and distribution panels
  • Diagnosing and repairing AC and DC motors, including motor control circuits and starters
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters
  • Installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation such as proximity sensors, level sensors, RTDs, and pressure sensors
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and site-specific policies
