Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain registration.
  • 2-4 years of Engineering experience
  • Industrial control and automation systems
  • DCS, PLC, and SCADA technologies
  • Instrumentation and process control
  • Industrial communications and networking
  • Operational data systems and historians
  • Windows-based environments and virtualization
  • Industrial cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in power generation is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Other educational backgrounds considered based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering and technical support for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Troubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, communications, and network issues to support safe and reliable plant operations.
  • Support and optimize Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, SCADA systems, data historians, and associated infrastructure.
  • Lead and participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes, engineering reviews, and technical assessments.
  • Support sustaining capital projects, operational improvement initiatives, system upgrades, lifecycle replacements, firmware updates, and configuration changes.
  • Partner closely with operations, maintenance teams, vendors, contractors, and OEMs to resolve technical issues and execute projects.
  • Maintain and improve operational data systems, engineering standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance reliability, maintainability, cybersecurity, and overall operational performance.
  • Support industrial cybersecurity activities, including patch management, monitoring, backup, and recovery processes.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and continuously develop technical and professional capabilities through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
