About The Position
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Industrial/Commercial Electricians for projects in or around Portage, IN. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of $30-$40/hour based on experience and skill level. This role is for proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity, and superior craftsmanship.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial and or a combination of industrial and commercial electrical experience
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions when required
- Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform detailed electrical work
Nice To Haves
- Experience with motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and automation systems
- Experience installing and servicing three-phase electrical systems
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience operating aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and controls in industrial and commercial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Install conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC, and Flexible), cable trays, wire, and electrical devices
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Install and terminate motors, transformers, panels, switchgear, lighting, receptacles, and control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and local electrical codes
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects safely and on schedule
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures as needed
